Neem



Neem is derived from the Sanskrit Nimba which means to bestow health which signifies the great therapeutic value of this plant. All parts of neem plant have medicinal properties and used extremely in Indian traditional system of medicine. 


What is Neem?

    Neem is a tree. The bark, leaves, and seed are used to make medicine. Less frequently, the root, flower, and fruit are also used.

 



Neem leaves uses 

    Neem leaves are widely used to cure a number of human and animal diseases. The physio-chemical properties of neem leaves help to maintain the overall well being. Leaves are also used to manufacture a number of drugs and medicines. They have been traditional used to give bath to patients suffering from chicken pox.


 Neem oil is endowed with many medicinal properties and there are many neem oil based traditional preparations used for pesticides, fungicides and also for treating many human diseases.

1. Neem leaf has antifungal and antibacterial properties, making it effective in treating dandruff.

Leaves: neem leaves help in the treatment of vatik disorders ( neuro muscular pain). Neem leaves are also reported to remove toxic, purify blood and prevent damage caused by free radical in the body by neutralising them. Neem leaves are reported to be beneficial in eye disorders and insect bite poisons.


Fruits: Neem fruit are bitter, purgative, antihemorrhodial and anthelmintic in nature.


Seeds:  Neem seeds are also described as anthelmintic, antileprotic, anti poisonous and bitter in taste.


Oil: Neem oil derived from crushing the seeds is antidermatonic, a powerful anthelmintic and is bitter in taste. It has a wide spectrum of action and is highly medicinal in nature.


Flowers: Neem flower are used in vitiated conditions of pitta and kapha. They are astringent, anthelmintic and non-toxic.
